L’Oréal Doubles Sales in China

December 9, 2005

CHINA: L’Oréal China doubled its sales last year, making it the fastest growing L’Oréal unit in the world. Since entering China in 1997, the company has invested $120 million to expand its market share. By acquiring the Chinese cosmetic brands Mini-nurse and Yuesai, the company sells its own products to customers through the outlets built by the two Chinese brands.
Driven by a good performance in China, L’Oréal’s sales in Asia rose 17% last year to reach approximately $1.7 billion.
