THE NETHERLANDS: The new fractionation plant of Unimills B.V, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Golden Hope Plantations Bhd, was officially launched by Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in May. This is the first fractionation plant for Unimills and also the first such plant built by Golden Hope abroad. Golden Hope acquired Unimills from Unilever in 2002 as part of its overall effort to become a global leader in the oils and fats industry. The four million euro plant, completed in November of last year, will enable Unimills to produce 80,000 tons of fractionated products a year and 450,000 tons of refined products annually.
