Shiseido Takes
Skin Care to China
l JAPAN: Shiseido Co. will start selling skin care “pharmaceuticals” in China in an attempt to keep in step with rival Japanese drug manufacturers. They will partner with Pharmalink, a pharmaceuticals wholesaler in Hong Kong, and will begin marketing a lineup of five Ferzea brand skin moisturizing products in Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian and four other major cities.
Regarding China as its most important overseas market, Shiseido plans to expand its cosmetic sales network there from 1,000 sales agents in September to 5,000 by March 2008.
