Colgate-Palmolive Gains On

Colgate-Palmolive Co. said that fourth quarter profit rose, helped by higher sales and selling prices as well as cost savings from its restructuring program. For the most recent quarter, the New York-based company said earnings advanced to $361.2 million from $285.7 million a year ago. Sales for the three months ended Dec. 31 rose to $2.9 billion from $2.8 billion in last year’s fourth quarter.
