Developed initially for the aerosol market, DS Containers’ two-piece steel can is available for a wide range of liquid and viscous products. Made of polymer-coated steel, with an FDA and EU-approved interior lining, it was judged one of the top three prototypes in the 2005 Cans of the Year competition held in Barcelona, Spain.
The unique steel can is in commercial production at DSC’s new coil-to-can facility in Batavia, IL. DS Container is an affiliate of Japanese can manufacturer Daiwa, whose engineers, working with European steel fabricator Corus, perfected the application of polymer coating to tin-free steel for use in can manufacture.
