ICMAD Holds FDA Cosmetic Regulatory Workshop

A workshop was held by the Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD) to alert cosmetics representatives to new requirements and regulations from the FDA. Penni Jones, ICMAD executive director, reiterated the importance of the adherence to FDA regulations as the cosmetic industry grows. Robert Eshelmen, from the OTC drugs compliance team and the CDER discussed drug review processes versus cosmetics. Drug claims court cases were discussed as well as policies regarding health regulations against cosmetics retailers.
