Kematen Celebrates

December 5, 2006

● Kematen Cosmetics USA celebrated its first anniversary in August. The company was formed in 1998 when Bernhard and Martin Scholz purchased the Henkel production facility where Martin was employed. The brothers named their new company after the Austrian town in which the plant resides. The acquisition of three other European manufacturing plants soon followed.
The KMS Research, LLC plant in Redding, CA was purchased in August, 2005, becoming the fifth production facility in the network, and the company’s first U.S. location. The Redding plant continues to produce KMS, along with products from several other personal care and professional beauty product companies. KcUSA is in the process of completing a $1.5 million investment program designed to modernize and upgrade the facility and equipment.
