Procter & Gamble (P&G) is selling candles again, nearly 90 years after the rise of electric lighting forced the company to stop making them.
P&G is responding to today’s market by offering new scented candles from Febreze with an unique odor-eliminating core.
“The Febreze brand is a pioneer in odor-elimination technology going back to when we launched Febreze as the first fabric refresher in 1997,” said Jorge S. Mesquita, president, global home care and P&G professional. “We felt that it was only natural that an odor-eliminating candle be developed for Febreze given the brand’s heritage.” Candles were the first item sold by the company and were developed by William Procter in 1835.
