Bug Bites Are Leading Beauty Buster in Survey

What’s worse than frizzy hair in the summer? Bug bites, according to a recent SC Johnson OFF! “Summer Beauty-Buster” survey. With summer comes leisurely days at the beach, outdoor parties, backyard barbecues as well as some serious beauty challenges that can hinder skin-bearing beauty.

SC Johnson set out to find what most frustrates women when it comes to summer beauty. The results showed that the majority of those polled (74%) said that anything related to bugs (i.e. bites, rashes, wearing unpleasant bug spray) was the biggest summer beauty-buster, even compared to sunburns (41%) and smeared makeup (32%).

The survey also revealed that approximately two-thirds of women think that when it comes to romantic dates, visible bug bites and smelling like bug spray is more embarrassing than frizzy or flat hair.

Even though 70% of women said they don’t like wearing clothing to avoid bugs, the thought of bug bites and applying greasy bug spray might deter even the most fashion-focused females from showing some skin this summer.
