“Our distributor had done a great job for us, but we wanted to get even closer to our customers,” explained Stefano Focolari, marketing and product development director, Lumson. “Working directly with our clients makes it much easier to meet their needs.”
The 3,000 square foot site includes a showroom and is strategically located just 21 miles from Philadelphia and 95 miles from New York City. The site is under the direction of Matteo Morretti, president Lumson USA and general director of Lumson. The company expects U.S. sales to reach $6 million in 2008.
As it expands its presence in the U.S., Lumson is expanding its sales force too and is seeking experienced industry professionals. It’s all part of a strategy to get new concepts in packaging to the client faster. “Now our U.S. customers can see the same concepts at the same time we are unveiling them to our European clients,” observed Mr. Focolari.
