MALAYSIA: Mary Kay has opened its headquarters in Malaysia with plans of expanding its beauty business. The local Mary Kay company, which currently has over 4,000 beauty consultants/dealers regionally, plans to cut a 40% commission to its dealers from the sales of its cosmetic products. Its general manager, Mike Strong, said the target market for the U.S.-based cosmetic company's products would be the lower middle income group.
“Although we are a U.S.-based company, for this region we are catering our products according to the Asian skin,” Mr. Strong told a press conference following the launch of the Mary Kay corporate office.
