Natural Beauty Summit in Paris

October 3, 2007

ITEC France and Organic Monitor have unveiled the Natural Beauty Summit, a series of international conferences that focus on natural cosmetics.

The aim of the Natural Beauty Summit is to create a forum to learn and discuss the key challenges the cosmetics industry faces in the areas of natural and organic products and sustainability. It will bring together key stakeholders such as cosmetic manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, packaging companies, retailers, industry organizations and investors and create a forum to discuss and debate current critical issues.

The inaugural conference, Natural Beauty Summit Europe (NBSE), will take place on Nov. 29 and 30 in Paris. The conference will tackle major issues like defining natural cosmetics, standards and certifications, ingredients and formulations, sustainability and ethical sourcing, marketing and distribution and investments and growth strategies. Experts in the natural cosmetics industry will present papers.

Horst Rechelbacher, founder of Aveda, will kick off the premier event with an opening address on the importance of sustainability. Conference sessions include natural actives, preservatives, and novel ingredients.

Also, certification agencies like Ecocert, Soil Association and BDIH will be part of a panel discussion that looks at “The Possibility of Harmominsation of Natural & Organic Standards.”
