Due to the increased demand from consumers for environmentally friendly products, M&H Plastics is launching Post Consumer Regrind (PCR) PET plastic which is 100% recycled.
Recycling can provide an efficient, environmentally-friendly alternative to the traditional disposal of materials to landfills. PCR PET plastic can also conserve energy and non-renewable resources as recycling replaces the need for primary extraction and the manufacture of new plastics.
M&H has worked in partnership with Naked Bodycare (a 97% natural toiletries brand) to produce PET packaging that is made from 100% PCR. The company’s entire range of foaming baths, as well as its 250ml-sized hand washes and hand lotions, are packaged in PCR plastic bottles.
“As part of our environmental policy, M&H Plastics has been working for some time on being able to bring to market a range of sustainable packaging solutions that can not only be manufactured in recyclable plastics, but also material that has been recovered from the waste stream, post consumer use. Naked has quickly picked up on the development work we have undertaken, and is the first customer in their product sector to place a bulk order with us for bottles that are manufactured using 100% PCR material,” said Kevin Spall, UK sales manager, M&H Plastics.
“We were determined to offer this environmentally-friendly packaging solution to our customers as we know they are as concerned as we are about the environment. We believe that a small change can make a big difference and we are forever striving toward a business that has a minimal impact on the environment–this is especially important for a brand that gains so many of its ingredients from natural sources,” said Louise Potts, founder of Naked.
