Converting magazine has honored Disc Graphics, Inc. with the 2007 Innovator Award for Community Service in recognition of the company’s efforts in “Doing Well by Doing Good.”
Disc’s community service committee, headed by Diane Ferrante, director of human resources, was established three years ago and is currently comprised of 10 employees. Among other initiatives, they organize the company’s many charitable activities raising $140,000 for Best Buddies New York, a program to improve understanding and community awareness of special needs students.
“We live nearby our company. We understand the needs of our general community and our own employees. If you’re going to be part of that community, you really have to be engaged. These efforts are part of an ongoing program started by Don Slinkin, chief executive officer and Margaret Krumholz, president,” said John Rebecchi, senior vice president.
