New Life Chemical Company, a diversified surplus chemical company based in Greenville, SC, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. In 1997, friends and colleagues Bill Anderson, Melvin Murphy, Andrea W. Pisarcik, and Ron Rountree took their faith and 60 years of combined knowledge to begin a company that incorporates the power of science, technology and teamwork to challenge environmental change through the recycling of surplus chemicals. New Life Chemical serves the U.S. and 14 other countries.
“The motivation to start New Life Chemical went well beyond our desire to become entrepreneurs, it was to also make a difference in our environment, our community, and around the world,” said Mr. Murphy.
The company is doing just that, with over 100 million pounds of chemicals recycled during the past 10 years. According to New Life Chemical, the disposal of unwanted chemicals is one of the chemical industry’s biggest financial concerns and it is a daunting environmental challenge. New Life is preparing to meet this challenge by adding a new 25,000 sq. ft. building to its existing 40,000 sq. ft. production, warehouse, and office facility located at 15 North Kings Rd.
“The additional space will allow us to take advantage of more chemical recycling opportunities,” said Mr. Rountree.
In addition to a growing customer base and growing facilities, New Life’s staff has expanded too. During the past six years the original four principals have added key people in the areas of technical support, production, accounting, sales and marketing.
