BASF Completes Its Personal Care Team



BASF Performance Chemicals:

has completed its Personal Care Ingredients team with the addition of Gary Dee as business director, Personal Care Ingredients, North America. He will be based in Florham Park, NJ. Mr. Dee comes to BASF with 17 years of global sales, marketing, manufacturing and supply chain experience in ozone performance acids, plastic additives and raw materials for cosmetic, toiletry and personal care markets.

Sun Chemical:

has promoted Mike Jaffe to cosmetics marketing manager in the U.S. In this role, Mr. Jaffe will be responsible for marketing, product management and the Cincinnati cosmetics technical service laboratory. Before joining Sun Chemical in 2007 as a key account manager for cosmetics, Mr. Jaffe worked for Chemcentral for more than 15 years.

Ultra Chemical:

has named Jim Lynch as director of sales for Ultra Chemical, Inc. He has been in the cosmetic and personal care industry for 14 years. Most recently, he was an account manager for National Starch.

Sabinsa:

announced the appointment of Benoit Le Gall as quality assurance and quality control manager for its Payson, UT facility. Mr. Le Gall comes to Sabinsa with more than eight years of experience as a chemist with a strong background in quality control and laboratory practices.

International Flavors & Fragrances:

appointed Judith Gross as global director, fragrance innovation and Matt Frost as global marketing director, fine fragrance and beauty care.  Ms. Gross has been with IFF for 15 years, most recently in the role of global marketing director, fine fragrance and beauty care. Most recently, Mr. Frost was vice president, global fine fragrance, marketing and market research for Givaudan.


Clariant Masterbatches:

has appointed Jeff Saeger as director of marketing for Clariant Masterbatches’ North America region. Mr. Saeger joined Clariant Masterbatches in 2005 as consumer durable goods segment manager for North America.

Oxiteno USA:

announced the addition of Luciana Ortiz de Pinho as sales manager. Ms. Ortiz will be located in Freehold, NJ. Ms. Ortiz most recently held the position of sales manager for agrochemicals and textile chemicals for Oxiteno in Brazil, where she managed a team responsible for over $100 million in annual revenues.

Croda:

promoted Suellen Bennett to the position of marketing manager, skin care, makeup and botanicals from her previous position of marketing manager, botanicals. Ms. Bennett started her career as a microbiologist at Estée Lauder and then held various sales and marketing positions at Brooks Industries, Biosil Technologies and GE.  She is active with the New York Chapter of the SCC and is currently serving as chair of the chapter.

Natural Health Trends:

appointed Paolo Giuliani to direct subsidiary operations in Europe. In this consulting role, Mr. Giuliani will be charged with expanding direct-selling opportunities in Europe and managing European-based operations. Mr. Giuliani has held various management roles.
