Vetiver is a new fragrance collaboration between home fragrance company Alora Ambiance and home textile designer John Robshaw. It was inspired by a trip Mr. Robshaw made to a local bazaar in Java, Indonesia, where he discovered floor mats with vetiver roots woven into their fabric. Vetiver’s fragrance speaks to a sense of memory of that bazaar: the sweet, deep smell of cloves and cigarettes, marketplace flowers and stacks of batiks carefully folded. Vetiver is an exotic fragrance, smoky and earthy, with notes of clove and tobacco.
