INDIA: In-Cosmetics India is adding Spectrum, a new show within this year’s trade exhibition, which is scheduled for Sept. 17-18 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. According to show organizers, Spectrum—which is being rolled out in partnership with market research firm Mintel and Sensational Color, a U.S.-based color strategy consultancy—will present personal care brands from all over the world in which color is the inspiration for innovation. Mintel has selected 30 new products from its Global New Products Database (GNPD) that showcase how color has been used to help a product stand out from the crowd, appeal to a specific target audience or to reinforce brand values and positioning.
“The color of a product or its packaging can be up to 85% of the reason people decide to buy,” said Kate Smith from Sensational Color. “It is therefore important for all companies to make educated decisions when it comes to colors. In the cosmetics and personal care industry, it is especially critical since multi-sensory psychological messages are being communicated. This means that a mismatch in the customer’s mind will cause them to hesitate to make a purchasing decision.” More info: www.in-cosmeticsindia.com
