AMSTERDAM: The BSB Innovation Prize in actives/naturals has been awarded Mibelle Biochemistry’s PhytoCellTec Malus Domestica, the first active based on plant stem cells to protect skin stem cells. The award, which is presented by BSB Beratungs- und Servicebüro Dr. Riedel (Dr. Riedel Consulting Services Agency), was presented at In-Cosmetics in Amsterdam in April.
Using a novel, patent-pending plant cell culture technology, Mibelle Biochemistry developed an active based on apple stem cells. For this product dedifferentiated callus cells from a rare apple were cultivated. These apple stem cells are rich in epigenetic factors and metabolites, which assure the longevity and vitality of skin cells.
