Unilever To Acquire SIFCA’s Soap Business

WEST AFRICA: Unilever said it will acquire the soap business of Cosmivoire, which sells its products in West Africa. Cosmivoire is a subsidiary of SIFCA, an Ivorian agro-industry company. Unilever said the deal will strengthen its consumer business in the region. Approval by the regional authorities is expected by the end of the year.

At the same time, Unilever announced that it is selling its edible oil business in Côte d’Ivoire, including its interests in local oil palm plantations.
