A new product is giving the germophobes daily protection

August 6, 2008

A new product is giving the germophobes daily protection from microbe invasion. DuraBan forms a colorless, odorless bond to any surface, creating an antibacterial, antimicrobial barrier that lasts for months at a time, covalently-bonding to treated surfaces throughout the home and on-the-go. BDA Industries, marketer of the DuraBan Antimicrobial Technology, has launched DuraBan Total Defense Kit, which will be offered to consumers in an infomercial showcasing its powerful proactive solution, which kills 99.9% of bacteria. In addition, the solution acts as a barrier for viruses and bacteria like MRSA, HIV B, Influenza A, Salmonella, Staph, E-coli and SARS and more than 40 strains of yeast, algae and fungi. DuraBan Total Defense Kit includes DuraBan Laundry Rinse, a liquid poured in with laundry that inhibits the growth of bacteria on fabrics, keeping them germ-free, stain-free, odor-free and cleaner between washings; DuraBan Fabric Spray, a protective spray that forms an antimicrobial, antibacterial barrier to prevent odor-causing bacteria on any fabric, including sofas, carpets and curtains; DuraBan Surface Spray, which forms a barrier on surfaces to prevent mold and bacteria on tile, countertops, tables, sinks, showers and other surfaces; and DuraClean On-the-Go Disinfectant Spray. DuraBan’s EPA registered formula is based on surface-modifying technology that forms antimicrobial chemical crosslinks with the treated surface, creating a non-leaching and durable sword-like microbial barrier. While conventional antimicrobials migrate and leach, wearing away over time and releasing toxic chemicals into the environment, DuraBan’s bonds will not leach or migrate.
