INDIA: In-cosmetics India has announced details of its Skincare Formulation Conference, which will be held Sept. 17 on the first day of the show in Mumbai. Designed to boost the knowledge of formulators, bench chemists, scientists and R&D specialists, the conference will focus on skin-whitening product formulation for women and for the fast-growing male segment.
According to ORG-Marg, an independent market research group, the skin-whitening market in the country has been growing at an annual rate of about 20% during the past four years, with whitening products accounting for nearly 70% of facial treatment sales in India. Topics will range from skin feel to gender-specific requirements of formulations and their stabilization. Theoretical sessions in the morning will be followed by practical workshops in the afternoon. The keynote address is “Personal Care Formulation Trends in India-Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” by Dr. Anjan Ray, business development director, speciality materials for South Asia and the Middle East, Honeywell.
