Framed Soap Composition Patented by Kao Corp.

Kao Corporation, Tokyo, has been awarded a U.S. patent covering a framed soap composition that contains water and the following ingredients: (a) 25-60% of a fatty acid soap containing not greater than 20% of insolubles; (b) 0.1-5% of sodium chloride; (c) 0.1-5% of sodium sulfate; (d) 5-30% of a polyol selected from the group consisting of glycerin and sorbitol; and (e) from 25-50% of water. The total contents of ingredients b and c is from 1-10%, and wherein the weight ratio of ingredient b to ingredient c is from 1:4 to 6:1. The composition is further comprised of 10-80% of a volume fraction of gas bubbles obtained by aeration treatment.
L’Oréal Patents Anhydrous AP Stick

L’Oréal S.A., Paris, has patented an anhydrous antiperspirant stick. It is comprised of at least one antiperspirant active agent chosen from aluminum chlorohydrate and its complexes; at least one solidifying agent which is a mixture of natural wax and polyethylene wax each having a melting point greater than 80°C; and at least one inorganic or organic base, wherein the stick is free of ethanol, isopropanol, soap and dibenzylidene sorbitol.
Combination Dishwashing Detergent

Henkel AG has patented a combination dishwashing product with two liquid cleansers/detergents that are held separately from each other in the packaging. Detergent A is comprised of, by weight 10-75% detergent builder(s); 0.1-10% enzyme(s) and 24.9-89.9% water. Detergent B is comprised of, by weight, 10-74.9% detergent builder(s); 25-89.9% water, and 0.1-15% bleach. Detergent A has a pH value (at 20°C) of 6-9, and at least one of the detergents has at least one of the group consisting of methyl glycine diacetic acid, a salt of methyl glycine diacetic acid, and one or more organic solvents selected from the group consisting of organic amines and alkanol amines and alkanol amines.
Skin Pigmentation Reduction

Access Business Group International LLC, Ada, MI, has been awarded a U.S. patent for a composition that reduces pigmentation in skin. It is comprised of a multiple pigmentation inhibitor that contains at least five ingredients selected from the group consisting of hexapeptide-2; a tyrosinase activity inhibitor selected from the group consisting of ascorbic acid, derivatives of ascorbic acid, salts of ascorbic acid or its derivatives, kojic acid, arctostaphylos uva ursi leaf extract, glycyrrhiza glabra extract, sanguisorba officinalis extract, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, morus alba extract, morus bombycis extract, and mixtures thereof; a competitive inhibitor of melanin polymerization selected from the group of extracts rich in cafeic acid and helianthus annus seed extract; a component that inhibits the transfer of a melanosome to a keratinocyte selected from the group consisting of a botanical extract containing lectin and a triticum vulgare germ extract; a component to alter the ratio of eumelanin to phaeomelanin consisting of a triticum vulgare germ extract; and a component to lighten the skin through exfoliation selected from the group consisting of sodium ascorbyl phosphate, calcium ascorbyl phosphate, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, avena sativa kernel extract; a glycoprotein, and mixtures thereof. It also contains a cell protectant comprised of at least four ingredients selected from the group extracts of “solanum tuberosum extract,” an antioxidant, a sun protectant, a cell metabolism stimulant, and an inflammation inhibitor; and at least one functional ingredient penetration enhancer selected from the group consisting of a water soluble ingredient and an oil soluble ingredient.
Carpet Cleaner Patented by Reckitt Benckiser

A method of cleaning a soiled carpet has been patented by Reckitt Benckiser. It entails adding to the reservoir of a carpet cleaning machine a water soluble product that contains liquid carpet cleaner comprised of a super wetting agent encased in a water soluble polymer, adding water to the reservoir of the carpet cleaning machine prior to or after adding the water soluble product and operating the carpet cleaning machine. The liquid carpet cleaning composition encased in the water soluble polymer comprises at least one surfactant, at least one builder and at least one super wetting agent selected from silicone glycol copolymers and fluorosurfactants present in an amount of from 0.1 to 10% w/w, wherein a free water content of the liquid carpet cleaning composition is less than 5%.
LVMH Patents Non-Ethanol Perfumes

LVMH Recherche, Paris, has patented a perfume composition free of ethanol or alcohol. It is comprised of a perfume concentrate comprising at least one essential oil and a solubilizer comprised of an association of a hydrofluoro ether component and at least one polyacid ester in an amount sufficient to give the composition an essentially clear appearance.
