Ande Cosmetics Wins Rexam Challenge

Ande (All Natural, Diverse and Eco-Friendly) Cosmetics won the Rexam 4th Annual Formulation Challenge, for its Cool It! burn salve. The award was presented during HBA Global Expo. For the winning entry, the Maryland-based Ande Cosmetics has earned a corporate prize of €10,000 and a personal award, as the formulator—a weekend trip to Holland during tulip season. Formulations were evaluated by an international panel of industry experts. Andrea Frayser is president of Ande Cosmetics, a company that specializes in all-natural products that promote skin cleansing, balance and toning. The line uses nutrient-dense ingredients that soothe and nurture the skin. This year’s Rexam Formulation Challenge marked the 25th anniversary of the air-powered Airspray fine mist dispenser.

With unprecedented demand for, and interest in, eco-friendly product packaging, this year’s challenge encouraged new levels of creativity, explained Casper Kleiman, global foam product manager, Rexam.

“We received entries with a very high ‘wow-factor,’ that appealed to both today’s environmentally-conscious consumers, and to manufacturers looking to build brands in our increasingly competitive marketplace,” said Mr. Kleiman.

“More than ever, new product success depends upon development of compelling, creative offerings that capture consumers’ attention and meets a real need,” added Mr. Kleiman.
