Brenntag Names Margherita Marketing Manager

of Brenntag

Promoted Michele Margherita to personal care specialties marketing director for Brenntag North America. Prior to this appointment, she was a market manager with Brenntag Specialties, Inc., division of Brenntag North America, focusing on personal care and cosmetics managing principal relationships and supporting selling efforts with product, market and applications intelligence.

Elevance Renewable Sciences:

Kenneth J. Christy has joined the company as leader of the antimicrobial business platform. In his new role, Mr. Christy will lead Elevance’s efforts to develop and grow its position in the global antimicrobial market using novel actives from renewable, raw materials.


Appointed John van Osch as group senior vice president-Europe, effective January 1, 2009 reporting to Gary Pruitt, Univar president and CEO. Currently, Mr. van Osch is president and general manager of DSM Composite Resins.

Jayson Goodner has been appointed East Coast region assistant sales manager for Ajinomoto U.S.A., Inc. specialty chemicals division. Prior to joining Ajinomoto, he worked as an R&D chemist with TRI-K/Kemira. His experience also includes serving as a chemist for Avon and Air Products & Chemicals. 

Autumn Harp:

Darren Edwards was appointed to the newly-created position of innovations chemist at Autumn Harp. Mr. Edwards began working with organic and natural ingredients in personal care eight years ago. He has developed and implemented innovative manufacturing technologies in emulsion, hot pour and color cosmetics.

of Rexam

Appointed Misha Riveros Jacobson to lead its plastic packaging’s personal care division. As the managing director of personal care, Ms. Jacobson will lead operations that include more than 20 plants across the globe and nearly 10,000 employees. Ms. Jacobson brings to Rexam more than 20 years of relevant experience including her most recent position as president of Alcoa Auto and Truck Structures based in Cleveland, OH. Before joining Alcoa, she was general manager of GE Plastics Mexico. She is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and has broad international experience having lived and worked in Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, France, Spain and Japan.


Chanel has tapped Ezra Petronio, editor in chief of Self Service magazine to oversee art direction for its makeup and watch businesses. The appointment reflects the categories’ strong growth trajectories, according to a company spokeswoman. In the past, Ms. Petronio has worked on beauty campaigns for Prada and Chloé, among others. Petronio Associates will continue to work with brands including Miu Miu, Yves Saint Laurent and Chloé.

Fusion Brands:

Named Amanda Kruzich director of marketing. Ms. Kruzich, who was most recently with Elizabeth Arden Canada, where she spent five years as brand manager for skin care, fragrance and cosmetics, will oversee global marketing for Fusion and Clean. Also, Lisa Perry was named brand manager for Clean. Ms. Perry’s duties will include global development of fragrances and strategic planning and initiatives. She was most recently at home appliance marketer Jarden Consumer Solutions.


Phillip C. Widman has been appointed to its board of directors. Since 2002, he has been senior vice president and chief financial officer of Terex Corporationopment.

Ross Organic:

Hired Richard D. Hersey as director of sales. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Hersey was global account manager for Rohm & Haas, covering personal care, household industrial, floor care, water treatment and the paints & coatings biocides market segments. Stephanie Ross Leshney, formerly director of sales and marketing, has taken on a new role within the company as VP sales and marketing.
