Glenn Corp. Names Williams VP of Sales and Marketing
Glenn Corporation: appointed Jerry Williams as vice president–sales and marketing of this supplier of specialty ingredients in the Midwest and Southeastern U.S. He joins the company with more than 25 years of chemical industry experience in both product sales and the marketing services sectors. Prior to joining Glenn Corporation, Mr. Williams spent five years as vice president of sales for Chemidex. He also spent 21 years with Chemcentral, where he held various executive positions, most recently vice president-corporate business development and director of sales.
Elsner Engineering Works, Inc.: promoted Jay W. Roth to regional sales manager, with responsibility for the Western and Eastern U.S., Canadian territories and its Italian and African sales territories. He replaces Donald M. Rush, who retired at the end of 2008, after almost 28 years of service. Mr. Roth began his career at Elsner in 1995 and has worked in various capacities throughout the company. Prior to his promotion, he worked as a mechanical and electrical machine design engineer.
Q Laboratories, Inc.: promoted Meghan McDonough to microbiology group leader at its Cincinnati-based testing laboratory. She has worked as a microbiologist at Q Laboratories since February 2007.
Colonial Chemical: hired Doug Wynn as its new manufacturing manager. He will be responsible for the manufacturing of Colonial’s products and those areas associated with manufacturing operations. Mr. Wynn previously worked at Mead Paper (now Smurfit-Stone) in the chemical production side of the paper business for 11 years.
Elevance Renewable Sciences, Inc.: added William McGlashan Jr., founding partner of Texas Pacific Group (TPG) Growth, to its board of directors. As part of TPG Growth, Mr. McGlashan currently manages more than $2 billion in technology, renewable and life science investments. Prior to joining TPG in 2004, he was the chairman and chief executive officer of Critical Path.
Kinetik Technologies: appointed Adrienne Johnson as Northeast account representative. Her professional experience includes management roles with Morgan Stanley and Foxtons Realty. Ms. Johnson’s personal care experience includes Downeast Cosmetic Laboratories, where she was a project manager.
L’Oréal USA: named An Verhulst president of L’Oréal USA’s Professional Products Division (PPD). Ms. Verhulst started at L’Oréal 18 years ago in PPD in Belgium where she was in charge of marketing for L’Oréal Professionnel. In 1998, Ms. Verhulst moved to the division’s headquarters in Paris. Two years later, she was named general manager for PPD in The Netherlands. In 2004, Ms. Verhulst was promoted to general manager of PPD for L’Oréal in Brazil.
In other news, Laurant Attal, who has been president and chief executive officer of L’Oréal USA for the past four years, has been named executive vice president and managing director of research and innovation in Paris. He will succeed Jean-Francois Grollier, who will retire at the end of this year. Mr. Attal will be replaced at the helm of the North American operation on July 1 by Frederic Roze, who currently directs L’Oreal’s Consumer Products Division for Europe.
DeWolf Chemical: named Yvelle Wallach as account manager to its newly-created Pharmaceutical and OTC division. Ms. Wallach has a strong background in the pharmaceutical, personal care and food markets with more than 15 years of experience in the chemical industry.
Active Organics: tapped Steve Sinderbrand as vice president of sales and marketing. He brings more than 35 years of experience in the personal care industry, with the past 20 years at International Specialty Products where he held a variety of sales management jobs in the Americas as well
as business and commercial development in the industry.
Mr. Sinderbrand is an active member in the Society of Cosmetic Chemists as well as the International Food Technologists.
Walgreens: tapped its president/chief operating officer Greg Wasson as its next chief executive officer (CEO). Chairman Alan McNally, who served as CEO, remains chairman of the drugstore chain.
Rexam: appointed Steve Wirrig as managing director of its primary packaging and prescription business within its plastic packaging sector. Mr. Wirrig, who will work out of Perrysburg, OH, joined Rexam Beverage Can North America (BCNA) in 2003 as head of marketing.
Weleda North America: named Jasper van Brakel chief executive officer. He brings more than 10 years of business expertise to the company.
CND: welcomed back Mary Kennebeck to the newly-created position of education sales manager within CND’s North American sales department.
In this role, Ms. Kennebeck will oversee CND’s market development plan, which synthesizes supporting salon customers with education programs and building distributor sales. She will collaborate directly with clients, education ambassadors and sales team members.
Ms. Kennebeck began her career as a CND education ambassador then transitioned to territory manager, regional sales manager and European sales manager. Most recently, she honed her communication and business skills at GMAC.
