Jackwerth and Issberner Promoted at Cognis

Jackwerth of Cognis
appointed Bettina Jackwerth as marketing director of Care Chemicals North Europe. She had been global marketing director, personal care. She started her career at Henkel 21 years ago, and has worked for Cognis since the start of the company.

Ulrich Issberner will fill the position of global marketing director, personal care. Dr. Issberner holds a degree in medicine from the University of Bonn, Germany, and started his career with a research post in dermatophysiology. Following his residency, he worked for Henkel in research and development, and then joined Cognis in 2000. At Cognis, he has worked as head of technology, skin care, Germany, and most recently as senior marketing manager, Care Chemicals Personal Care, NAFTA at Cognis

Symrise: appointed Heinz-Jürgen Bertram as chief executive officer effective July 1. Mr. Bertram succeeds Gerold Linzbach, who had led the company for the past four years.

Mr. Bertram received his doctorate in chemistry. His professional career began in 1987 when he joined Bayer AG in Leverkusen. He moved to Holzminden in 1990 to work for Haarmann & Reimer GmbH, which was later absorbed into the newly formed Symrise Group in 2003. He held a number of managerial positions in the research and development area before taking over responsibility for the group’s global manufacturing operations in 2005. He has been a member of the executive board of Symrise AG since October 2006 when he was appointed to head-up the flavor and nutrition division.

Jones of Coast Southwest
Coast Southwest:
appointed Doug Jones as business segment director, silicones. In this new position, Mr. Jones will lead the silicone business for the entire company. With nearly two decades of extensive experience in new business development, marketing and sales, Mr. Jones will be involved in all aspects of the company’s silicone business.

International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF):
tapped Susan McEwen as director of specialty retail. She transitioned from a career in perfumery to sales 16 years ago and has since managed many fragrance teams with notable successes. Prior to joining IFF, Ms. McEwen was part of the team that expanded the Quest Creative Center.

Lacke of RITA
RITA Corporation:
appointed Phil Lacke as technical sales representative for the Central and Southwest corridor of the U.S. Mr. Lacke brings to RITA more than 20 years of industry experience having previously worked in key sales and marketing management capacities at Abitec Corporation. He was most recently the Midwest regional sales manager for Croda Inc.

DeWolf Chemical: welcomed Mike Scarlatelli to the newly-created position of regional sales manager.He was most recently with The McIntyre Group for the past 15 years, where he had commercial responsibility for sales in the Mid-Atlantic region.Kathy Rainone was promoted to the role of business manager–active ingredients and specialties. Kristin Bastien was promoted from inside sales coordinator to outside account manager where she has responsibility for industry sales.
