Murad Continues its Sponsorship of Ray Tank

For the 14th year, Murad, Inc. is sponsoring the round ray tank at the Roundhouse Marine Studies Lab and Aquarium in Manhattan Beach, CA. The Roundhouse Aquarium is part of non-profit organization Oceanographic Teaching Stations (OTS), which strives to educate the public through classes and exhibits on the marine life of Southern California.

Murad has sponsored the ray tank at the Roundhouse Marine Studies Lab and Aquarium for more than a decade.
Located in the Aquarium’s “Tidepool Touch Tank” area that houses animals found in local Southern California tide pool habitats, visitors are given the opportunity to touch the various animals in the Murad Tank, which are local to the Santa Monica Bay area.

“We are proud to support our community and the Roundhouse Aquarium,” said Richard Murad, chief operating officer and general counsel for Murad. “Like OTS, we believe that learning at any age through hands-on experiences offers the best way to understand and protect our environment.” According to Mr. Murad, the company’s founder, Howard Murad, has always been a strong advocate for children in the community and the world, regularly volunteering his time to disadvantaged youth and supports many causes that directly impact the lives of children. “As an organization we share Dr. Murad’s belief that children are the future and efforts to support education bring hope and encouragement to our next generation and a better future for all mankind,” he said.

The Murad Ray Tank is also home to several baby and juvenile sharks, including horn sharks, leopard sharks and swell sharks as well as spiny lobsters, decorated crabs and sand dollars.
