Wet n Wild on Shelves at Sephora Hong Kong
HONG KONG: Markwins Beauty Products has inked a deal with prestige beauty retailer Sephora to make Wet n Wild Craze Nail Lacquer available in the retailer’s Hong Kong location. The beauty retail giant will stock 20 SKUs of Craze Nail Lacquer, its newest nail launch.

FAFAI Elects New Officers
INDIA: FAFAI, the Fragrances and Flavors Association of India, recently held its officer elections for the 2009-2011 period. Those elected are: Ashok Shah, president; Anand Jhunjhun-walla, vice president; Nivedita Assar, honorary secretary; Rohit Seth, honorary joint secretary; and Madhu Thakkar, honorary treasurer.

Fancl Takes Share in Chinese Agents
CHINA: According to a report in the Nikkei Weekly, Fancl Corp. plans to purchase 40% stakes in two Chinese sales agents. Fancl will buy shares in Fantastic Natural Cosmetics Ltd. and Fantastic Natural Cosmetics (China) Ltd. and will co-develop products and stores, exchange personnel and share information.
Emery Oleochemicals Honored by Frost & Sullivan
MALAYSIA: Emery Oleochemicals, formerly known as Cognis Oleochemicals, has been named the Frost & Sullivan 2009 Asia Pacific best oleochemicals company of the year. The award is an acknowledgement for the company’s strong presence and continued success among the region’s oleochemical players.
In qualifying for this award, companies were studied on criteria such as market share, capabilities and overall contribution to the industry. Shortlisted companies were interviewed, and the data collected compared with proprietary Frost & Sullivan resources, as well as secondary research available from public resources.

In-Cosmetics Accepting Nominations for New Lifetime Achievement Award
FRANCE:In-Cosmetics 2010 will award a new Lifetime Achievement Award to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The honor will be presented to an outstanding individual whose professional accomplishments have made a significant and lasting impact on the field of cosmetic science at the show, which will be held in Paris, April 13-15.
Nominations are currently open on the In-Cosmetics website, www.in-cosmetics.com/awards, and some very promising entries have already been registered, according to show organizers.
The nomination period will close on Jan. 15, and the top six nominees will be announced on Jan. 25.An online public vote for the winner will then go live and remain open until March 31. The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony in Paris on April 14.
Lucy Gillam, exhibition director, commented: “The winner will be decided by public vote, so by launching this new Lifetime Achievement Award, we are offering the industry a platform to recognize an individual who has led and inspired those around them throughout their career and is a shining example of why this industry is still strong and growing year-on-year.”
