Zorbit Added to INC’s Fastest Growing 5000
Zorbit Resources (now doing business as Maesa Packaging) is one of only 1390 companies in the U.S. to be named to the INC5000—a list of the fastest growing private companies— in three consecutive years.
For three years in a row, Zorbit was positioned in the top 20th percentile of the list compiled by INC magazine. This year, the company was ranked No. 64 in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area and No. 26 in manufacturing.
In January 2009, Zorbit Resources was acquired by The Maesa Group.
EPA Recognizes Diamond Packaging in National Top 20 Printers List
Diamond Packaging now appears on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) new Top 20 Printers List of the largest green power purchasers in the commercial printing business. According to the company, it is purchasing more than six million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power annually, which is enough green power to meet 100% of the organization’s purchased electricity use. Diamond Packaging is buying its utility green power product from Rochester Gas & Electric.
This purchase also qualifies Diamond Packaging for EPA’s Green Power Leadership Club, a distinction given to organizations that have significantly exceeded EPA’s minimum purchase requirements. Green Power Leadership Club members must purchase 10 times the partnership’s minimum requirement organization-wide.The Top 20 Printers List is one of nine Top Partner Lists that EPA releases quarterly, highlighting some of America’s largest green power purchasers. Diamond Packaging currently ranks No. 7 on EPA’s Top 20 Printers List.

Anomatic Introduces Sustainability Initiatives
Anomatic Corporation has completed a comprehensive sustainability plan designed to reduce energy, waste, water and air pollution while significantly increasing the company’s ability to recycle and reuse materials. Anomatic said it embarked on the initiatives in early 2008 in response to customers’ needs to produce products that would meet stringent consumer demand.
As part of the overall plant and equipment improvements, Anomatic has significantly improved its ability to deliver environmentally-friendly packaging, according to the company. Major landmarks include:
• Up to 40% of process water is recycled and reused via advanced recycling technologies, reducing demand for potable water throughout Anomatic’s processes;
• New closed cycle vapor technology cleaning system installed last month, reducing 92% of carbon-based energy;
• Upgraded waste water treatment system to “semi-intelligent” PLC Logic-based control, lowering chemical usage; and
• Current air scrubber technology removes more than 98% of nitrogen oxides, operating at less than 40% of EPA permits and more.
