Fusion Launches Airless Twist Up Skin Care Package
Fusion Packaging recently launched an airless bottle for the skin care and cosmetic markets. According to the company, Fusion’s team of engineers was challenged to create a completely original item while maintaining the characteristics that make the round twist up one of its best sellers.
The square twist up is available in 30- and 15ml sizes.In addition, the company points out that the product is fully customizable and can be combined with a range of decorative options such as custom colors, silk-screening, hot stamping, UV metalizing and offset printing.

Aveeno, TerraCycle Form Repackaging Partnership
Aveeno recently partnered with TerraCycle—a company crafts affordable, eco-friendly products from a wide range of different non-recyclable waste materials—to give a new life to Aveeno’s product tubes. According to the company, it will “upcycle” the material into eco-friendly household items that will then be available for purchase at major retailers nationwide, offering consumers the opportunity to reuse their favorite Aveeno products.
Aveeno “Beauty Brigades” are currently being formed across the country to collect all of the empty elongated tubes from sun care, facial care, baby and body care products. For each tube received by TerraCycle, Aveeno will pay two cents to the non-profit organization or school of one's choice or to the featured charity, The Skin Cancer Foundation.

Ariel Laboratories Partners with Temptu for Airbrush
Flawless makeup application, once the exclusive domain of professional makeup artists, has been revolutionized by a do-it-yourself technology called the Temptu Airbrush Makeup System. The South Plainfield, NJ-based product development and manufacturing company Ariel Laboratories has collaborated with Temptu, a leader in airbrush makeup and revolutionary beauty technologies to create the formula for the system.
Temptu air pods are designed to last two to three months, so Air Pod Foundation is sold in pairs and blushes and highlighters are sold as individual units. The pods launched with 12 shades of foundation, four shades of highlighter and four shades of blush.
Ariel Labs has also formulated, developed and manufactured the ancillary line to the system called Retouch, a makeup-filled pen that is available in a liquid and powdered form.
Temptu’s line will continue to roll out to additional Sephora stores across the country in early 2010, and was set to debut on QVC last month. The Airbrush system was recently honored as a finalist at the HBA 2009 International Package Design Awards (IPDA).

The Pratt Institute - Luxe Pack Art of Packaging AwardGala, benefiting theMarc Rosen Scholarship for Graduate Package Design at Pratt Institute, will honor Coty Prestige for its outstanding commitment to package design on April 27 at New York’s University Club.
