OPI Founder Enters Hair Care Market

George Schaeffer grabs Aloxxi professional hair care.

He already dominates nail salons, now George Schaeffer has turned his attention to hair salons. The founder of OPI nail care products has acquired the Aloxxi professional hair care brand from Alberto-Culver. A purchase price was not disclosed.

The Aloxxi line inlcudes permanent, tone-on-tone, non-ammonia, and no-lift plant dye formulations, as well as a range of premium backbar products.

Schaeffer will operate Aloxxi as a stand-alone company from OPI, which is the leading nail enamel brand in the salon category.
