Diversey, Inc. will host a Climate Change Summit for senior European business leaders on April 26. The event, which will be held at the NH Barbizon Palace Hotel in Amsterdam, will focus attention on how businesses and associations across Europe can address climate change and its potential impact on the world economy.
The objective of the Climate Change Summit is to provide a business perspective to the global dialogue on climate change.
“We‘re sponsoring this summit to reinforce the principle that being environmentally responsible is good business,” said Diversey president and chief executive officer Ed Lonergan. “The environment and business enterprise have a common enemy: waste. Reducing waste in our enterprises, particularly relative to scarce water and energy resources is good for the planet, but equally good for our businesses.”
Duncan Pollard, director, conservation policy and practice for World Wildlife Fund International, will deliver the keynote address.
Other speakers include senior executives from leading European corporations, including Ahold, Hectas, Inpacs, ISS, NH Hotels and OCS plus leaders from major international professional associations, including ISSA, The Consumer Goods Forum, World Federation of Building Service Contractors and SKAL, the international association of travel and tourism professionals.
“The implications of global climate change require the urgent attention of the entire business community,” saidDiversey chairman S. Curtis Johnson.“Bringing together some of Europe’s most influential business leaders for this summit will promote sharing of new ideas and reassert the critical role sustainability must play in business strategy.”
Sessions during the afternoon will focus on the integration of sustainable business practices into corporate culture and operations and the role that industry associations are playing in promoting best practices in corporate sustainability. An audience of more than 150 senior business leaders from corporations, associations and non-governmental organizations across Europe are expected to attend.
