L'Oréal has a new communicator. The company announced that Sara Ravella will become general manager of corporate communications and external affairs and a member of the company’s executive committee starting Sept. 1. Ravella will succeed Béatrice Dautresme, who is to retire as executive vice president of corporate communications and external affairs in early 2011.
Dautresme has been with the French beauty giant since 1972 and in her current position since January 2005. She was named chief executive officer of the L’Oréal corporate foundation in October 2007 and became a member of the company’s executive committee in 2001. At that time, Dautresme was appointed executive vice president in charge of strategic business development. Prior to that, she held numerous other positions, including international managing director of Helena Rubinstein and managing director of the L’Oréal Cosmetics division at L’Oréal USA.
Ravella is senior vice president of communications and a member of the executive committee at Lafarge. Between 2003 and 2008, she was the company’s senior vice president of organization, development and training within the human resources department.
