Proprietary Spray Frost New From Technigraph
Technigraph Corporation, a division of Alpha Packaging, introduced its environmentally friendly Eco-Frost spray frost for plastic and glass. The high-end look of the proprietary spray frost provides customers with an additional “green” packaging option, because unlike conventional spray frosts, it contains no VOCs or solvents, according to the company.
Chuck Eddy, vice president of sales for Technigraph, said Eco-Frost offers many options to help companies differentiate their brand with a premium look.
“Customers can choose from clear or colored frosts, and translucent or opaque tinted coatings,” he said. “Eco-Frost can be used as a single color, or in multiple colors with fades. And the spray frost and coating processes can easily be combined with our environmentally friendly UV screen printing of up to six colors.”
Eco-Frost coatings can be used on bottles, jars, closures and custom parts made from plastic or glass. The range is ideal for high-end personal care products, fragrances and cosmetics.
SeaCliff Introduces Mascara Brushes
SeaCliff Beauty Packaging & Laboratories now offers clients innovative new stock mascara brushes. The component’s bristles gradually decrease in size toward the front of the brush, enabling consumers to reach corner lashes with the brush, said the company. One optional mascara component is comprised of an all-aluminum body and cap, with a maximum fill capacity of 9ml.
SeaCliff Beauty can customize the component’s color along with the brush, or fill customer-supplied bulk products as well.
“We are excited to add this stock brush to our library of options,” said Vonda Simon, president of SeaCliff Beauty Packaging & Laboratories. “When designing this brush, I kept the consumer’s needs in mind, so that the mascara brush allows for a smooth and flawless application on all lashes.”

B Green Taps HCT for Cosmetic Packaging
French makeup line B Green, developed for the company Club Créateur de Beauté (CCB), worked with HCT to create an eco friendly, recyclable replacement for its pearl eyeshadow and face powder plastic packaging.
The products feature a flush fit spiral tube with rolled edges and inner lid, according to HCT. The packaging is complete with a paper wrap finish—which was then decorated to the customer’s requirements.
Alcan Revamps Guerlain’s Terracotta Compact
Guerlain decided to breathe new life into its Terracotta compact. The legendary pack has been reinvented and reborn through the imagination of designer Ora Ïto. This is Ïto’s second creation for Guerlain after the Idylle fragrance.
Alcan Packaging Beauty’s teams turned the design into a stunning, extremely sophisticated compact with sleek, gentle lines, according to the company, with focus on the cover.
The lid is comprised of three parts:
• The first is a thick, transparent SAN lens with gold hot stamping between the amber varnish that brings out the Guerlain name in calligraphic style and an upper transparent UV varnish.
• The second stage of the lid is a brown, metal-finish platform with an embossed, off-center orange silk-screened double G.
• Finally, the hinge ring is made from brown metal-finish polycarbonate PB ABS.
Ultrasound welding assembles the three parts. As for the base, also brown metal-finished, it is over-molded to comply with the solid part’s geometry, according to the company.
