Access Business Group Patents Cosmetic Treatment

U.S. Patent No. 7,758,878 B2; Access Business Group International LLC, Ada, MI, has patented a cosmetic treatment system that is comprised of a topical composition and a patch or packaging system suitable for holding the cosmetic treatment system.

The topical composition contains at least one plant ingredient or plant extract from Rosmarinus officinalis, wherein at least one plant ingredient or plant extract is a member of the group consisting of a plant extract, an ursolic acid, a carnosic acid, a rosmarinic acid, and an oleanolic acid; a plant extract or a diarylheptanoid from alpinia; at least one DNA repair enzyme; at least one pharmaceutically or cosmetically acceptable vehicle; and Avena sativa (oat) kernel extract, evening primrose seed extract, L-ergothioneine, hydrolyzed soy protein, yeast extract, Lentinus enodes extract, Nymphaea alba flower extract and Perilla frutescens leaf extract.

Surface Composition Imparts Color
U.S. Patent No. 7,763,083 B2; S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. has patented a composition for applying a colorant to a surface. The composition is comprised of a homogeneous décor particle, an additive and a liquid carrier. The décor particle comprises a second additive, the colorant, and at least one of: an epoxy resin and a curative; an epoxy resin, an acid-terminated polyester resin and an accelerant; or an acid-terminated polyester resin and a curative. The first or the second additive is comprised of at least one of a surfactant, an odor eliminating agent, an odor-absorbing agent, a bactericide, a miticide, an insecticide, a pesticide or a fungicide.

Wella Patents Hair Wax
U.S. Patent No. 7,758,849 B2; Wella AG, Darmstadt, Germany, has patented a solid hair wax that contains silicone-free wax; hydrophobic oil which is liquid at 25°C and is a liquid silicone compound; silicone wax with a melting point in a range of 20°-45°C; optionally univalent C1- to C4-alcohol; optionally dyestuff; perfumes and fragrances; preservative; betaine; and optionally a light-protective substance.

Osteopontin in Dental Formulations
U.S. Patent No. 7,763,236 B2; Arla Foods Amba, Viby, Denmark, has patented a method for inhibiting plaque bacterial growth on tooth enamel by administering a formulation in the form of a toothpaste, mouthwash, mouth spray or chewing gum that contains osteopontin.

Combe Patents Catalyzed Air Oxidation Hair Color
U.S. Patent No. 7,758,659 B2; Combe Inc., White Plains, NY, has patented a single component air oxidation hair color composition. It contains water; a catalyst of water soluble metal salt selected from the group consisting of manganese sulfate and manganese chloride; etidronic acid (1-hydroxyethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid) as a chelating agent and color deposition enhancer; oxidation primary dye intermediates; 1,2,4-benzenetriol; oxidation dye couplers; dye antioxidants and stabilizers; optionally a water soluble surfactant and a water soluble anionic polymer; a water soluble solvent system selected from the group consisting of isopropanol and isopropyl acetate, or ethanol and ethyl acetate; and an alkalizer.

Dentifrice with Functional Film Flakes Patented by Colgate
U.S. Patent No. 7,763,235 B2; Colgate-Palmolive has patented a dentifrice composition that is comprised of an orally acceptable vehicle having flakes distributed therein. The matrix comprises a mixture of a water-soluble hydroxyalkyl methyl cellulose polymer and a starch. The ratio of hydroxyalkyl methyl cellulose polymer to the starch is approximately 1:3-4:1, and the flakes contain a constituent selected from a therapeutic material, decorative material and combinations thereof. The flakes are present in the composition in an amount of approximately 0.05-1.0% by total weight of the composition.

Composition To Reduce Appearance of Cellulite
U.S. Patent No. 7,763,264 B2; John Kulesza of Wethersfield, CT has patented a topical composition for controlling the metabolism and/or distribution of fat and/or the appearance of cellulite. The composition contains phosphatidylcholine; a buffer operative to maintain the composition’s pH between 7.5-9; and a solvent operative in an amount to maintain all of said phosphatidylcholine in a solution so that composition exhibits no micellar structure.

Hair Dye Patented by Avon
U.S. Patent No. 7,763,241 B2; Avon Products, Inc. has patented a method of dying hair to impart a temporary hair coloring. It contains at least one inorganic colored pigment, a nonvolatile dimethicone copolyol having approximately 1-30 moles ethylene oxide and approximately 10-50 moles propylene oxide and water. The excess composition is rinsed from the hair with water.

Essential Oil-Based Disinfecting Compositions
U.S. Patent No. 7,763,575 B2; Ohsoclean, Inc., San Francisco, CA, has been awarded a patent for a method of disinfecting or cleaning a surface. It entails contacting a surface with a composition comprised of thyme oil, one salt of a transition metal, sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate and water.The thyme oil will provide greater than about a 4-log order reduction in a population of microbes and/or viruses.
