Mega Airless Dispensing Technology Selected for New Weleda Products
The Weleda Group, a worldwide leader in the creation of all-natural skin and personal care products, has selected Mega Airless dispensers for Weleda’s latest launch of four body lotions. The Swiss-based brand’s latest retail launches incorporate the Mega Airless Mini SC (self-closing) pump with 0.8ml dosage. Pre-mounted customized caps feature the Weleda logo, while a snap-on ring with 35mm outer diameter was developed specifically for the co-extruded bottles with 200ml inner bags (bag-in-bottle, provided by Gaplast).
Mega Airless’ customized cap and collar underscored the company’s ability to develop packaging solutions that provide superior formula protection and offer stand-out shelf appeal, according to the company. With bag-in-bottle (BiB) technology, and airless, neutral dispenser design, end-users enjoy complete 360° application, exact dosing, highly efficient evacuation and formula stability over the life of the product, without discoloration, clumping or clogging.
The four new SKUs from Weleda include Citrus Hydrating Body Lotion, Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Body Lotion, Wild Rose Pampering Body Lotion and Pomegranate Body Lotion. They will initially be sold throughout Europe. Weleda’s all-natural products are sold in more than 50 countries across five continents and the Basel-based company recently celebrated its 90th anniversary.
According to Eric Desmaris, business development director, Mega Airless, “Our dispensing technology has great appeal for innovative personal care brands with an all-natural, eco-friendly, positioning. Today’s viscous, preservative-free formulations require advanced protection and accurate dosing—and our 100% neutral, airless, fully recyclable lotion pumps deliver tremendous performance and value,” he said.

Topline-Primapack Creates SwarovskiLipstick Case
Six new jewels of light for Swarovski’s Aura line are packaged in a unique jewel case from Topline-Primapack. Streamlined and extremely pure, this lipstick design is in perfect harmony with the Aura by Swarovski fragrance bottle, according to the company. The packaging’s unique and precious style stands out thanks to its small diameter, which allows for a perfectly precise application. This original twist laid the groundwork for the mechanism’s creation.
In addition to the mechanism’s exceptional specificity, Topline-Primapack created a complex object. The cap is in two parts—a long sheath in shiny silver anodized aluminum on which is placed an injected zamac piece, galvanized in the same shade, and whose setting calls for a manual adjustment. A Swarovski Elements crystal sparkles at its tip.
The injection process allowed for the creation of an ideal shape to fit the precious contents. The collage, positioning and recess, which are adjusted manually, are of a jeweler’s precision; the stone is perfectly placed.
As the project’s overseer, Topline-Primapack’s challenges were also in terms of finishing details—the Austrian crystal manufacturer’s refined signature. Particular concerns included the subtle silkscreen shade on the sheath, the audible and sound “click” of the closure and the mechanism’s easy manipulation.
