Nexxus Salon Hair Care has inked a multi-year partnership with the Tony Awards as its official and exclusive beauty partner, making Nexxus the first beauty and hair care brand to partner with the Tony Awards.
"The Tony Awards is a great opportunity to capture the essence of what Nexxus stands for – remarkable performance and captivating results – in a way that consumers can experience," said David Rubin, Unilever marketing director, Hair, U.S. "It allows us to bring the beauty and fashion of the Tony Awards to women in a way that's never been done before."
In its new role with the award program, Nexxus will give fans unprecedented red carpet and behind-the-scenes beauty and fashion access throughout the Awards. Specifically, during the 66th Annual Tony Awards this year, the Unilever brand will share exclusive behind-the-scenes content via the brand's Facebook and Twitter. Content will include live commentary and images from the Awards and the red carpet, with the help of a glamour and fashion correspondent Melissa Meyers, founder and chief creative officer of PageDaily.com. Meyers also will follow 2012 Tony Nominated Actress Laura Osnes (Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical, Bonnie & Clyde) during the Awards ceremony, as well as provide beauty and fashion advice and get-the-look tips straight from the red carpet.
In addition to delivering behind-the-scenes beauty and fashion access, Nexxus will be sponsoring the live simulcast of the Tony Awards in New York City's Times Square during the Awards ceremony on June 10.
"The Tony Awards embody the spirit of the Nexxus brand by recognizing actors, directors, productions, scores, and scenic and costume designers who deliver remarkable performances, every night on the Broadway stage. Similarly, Nexxus delivers captivating results with remarkable performance for women and their hair care. With Nexxus as our first-ever Official Beauty Partner, we are able to put a spotlight on the celebrity glamour and style of the Tony Awards," said Heather Hitchens, executive director of the American Theatre Wing and Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of The Broadway League.
