US To Host IFSCC Congress in 2016

July 3, 2012

Cosmetic chemists from around the world will meet in Orlando.

The US Society of Cosmetic Chemists will host the 29thCongress of the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists, Oct. 23-26, 2016. The theme of the meeting is "Beyond Dreams into New Frontiers – Inspire, Imagine, Innovate."

The Organizing Committee for the event includes Guy Padulo (Kobo Products, Inc.), Colleen Rocafort (BASF Corporation) and Amy Wyatt (Chanel, Inc.). Padulo will be the Chair of the Committee and Colleen will Chair the exhibition.Wyatt will be the IFSCC President in 2016. The Honorary Chair for the Congress is Dr. Robert Lochhead.

The Official Hotel for the Congress will be the Dolphin Hotel at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The Organizing Committee has many exciting ideas planned for the event and hopes to ensure everyone will be inspired by the Congress to imagine new frontiers in an effort to help attendees innovate new concepts for the future of the cosmetic industry.Technology and the World are constantly changing and the 29th Congress will be no different. To help promote the event, the SCC will be using QR Code technology. This technology enables individuals to scan the QR code with their Smart Phones, tablets and IPads and receive an exciting and informative message. So far two QR Codes have been introduced. The most recent provided a link to the Congress Logo and dates. More are planned over the next four years.
An event of this magnitude would not be possible without the support made by various Cosmetic Industry Companies. The 2016 Congress Organizing Committee is currently soliciting sponsorships. In 2004, there were over 70 companies that sponsored the Congress. Each received recognition of their contribution on the SCC website, in all promotional materials and throughout the Congress. Like 2004, this will be a unique opportunity to aid the Society in putting on the best event possible to showcase the depth of technology and high level of science taking place in our industry. If you feel your company would like to become a sponsor for the 2016 Congress, please contact Bill Cowen at the SCC National Office (

The Committee is also seeking companies interested in participating at the exhibition that will take place in conjunction with the Congress. The Pacific Hall will again be the venue with 50,000 square feet of columnless space. If your company would like to be an exhibitor, please send an email to Bill at the SCC National Office. We anticipate numerous booths representing many companies, both domestic and international, will be reserved. In 2004, there were over 160 booths. The Exhibiting Companies found that they were able to enhance their business by reaching a global audience of premier scientists throughout our industry.

In an effort to assist with budgetary concerns, the SCC will be offering installment plans for both Sponsorship pledges and the exhibition costs for vendors.
The Committee on Scientific Affairs will again be responsible for the scientific program including both podium and poster presentations. It is expected that the Call for Papers of both podium and poster presentations will see a record number of abstracts submitted. The 29th IFSCC Congress will boast the most inspired, imagined and innovative science throughout the podium presentations and posters on display.
More information on the Congress will be forthcoming including the Official Call for Papers, the Exhibitor Prospectus and the launch of the 2016 Congress Website. Check the SCC website for updates.
