Cosme Innovation, Cosme Tokyo Draw Nearly 17,000

• JAPAN: The third Cosme Innovation and the new Cosme Tokyo exhibition attracted 324 exhibitors and 16,936 visitors to Tokyo in June, well exceeding the 141 exhibitors and 9,069 visitors at the prior year’s event. In addition, the conference attracted more than 3,000, who learned about the latest market trends and how to successfully market products in Japan and the rest of Asia.

Together, Cosme Innovation and Cosme Tokyo are Japan’s only trade fair covering the whole cosmetics industry—from ingredients, OEM, containers/packaging to finished products, according to Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd., which produces the show.

Moreover, the number of overseas exhibitors has increased considerably, as well as a large number of visitors from all around Asia seeking Japan’s high-quality ingredients/containers, popular “made-in-Japan cosmetics” and the latest trends gathering here in Tokyo, according to Reed. Visitors came from China, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia and several other countries.

Next year’s event, scheduled for June 26-28, 2013 at Tokyo Big Sight venue in Japan, is expected to attract 550 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors.
