April Sales Better Than Expected

US retail edges up 0.1%

US retail sales in April were better than expected. Analysts had expected sales last month to decline following a drop in March. Instead, sales rose 0.1%. Observers said particularly strong results were registered by apparel and accessories, which gained 1.2%.
