Murad Launches Pore Reform

July 2, 2013

Unclogs and seals pores.

Murad, Inc. has launched Pore Reform, which it calls the first and only product system on the market that effectively unclogs and seals pores, shielding the skin from blackhead causing dirt and debris. Featuring Oxidation Reversal Complex, an innovative, proprietary technology that helps reverse and prevent sebum oxidation, Blackhead & Pore Clearing Duo is clinically proven to reduce the formation of blackheads by an average of 58%, according to the company.

The Pore Reform line is made up of five distinct pore-clearing and tightening products: Daily Cleansing Foam, a dual-action foaming cleanser that washes away dirt, oil and pore-clogging impurities; T-Zone Pore Refining Serum, a daily treatment that works to normalize oil production while lifting away dull, dry skin cells; Blackhead & Pore Clearing Duo, a fast-acting two step treatment that helps clear blackheads and seal pores with lasting protection against impurities and oxidation; and Balancing Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 15 | PA++, a lightweight daily moisturizer that helps control oil production while delivering powerful antioxidant protection against skin damaging UVA/UVB rays.

"Pore size is determined by genes and, aside from very invasive treatments which do not always work, the actual size of a person's pores cannot be changed. That said, we can minimize the appearance of pores with products that keep pores clean and healthy," said Howard Murad, M.D, FAAD, founder of Murad, Inc and the Inclusive Health movement. "The best way to reduce the appearance of pores is to use efficacious products that will clean and protect, which is what Pore Reform was created to do, and also to provide your skin with the nutrients and environment it needs to be healthy. This can be achieved by living an Inclusive Health lifestyle, which addresses topical, nutritional and emotional needs for optimal skin health. After all, healthy skin is a reflection of overall wellness."

"The information gathered from a recent study we conducted showed that women aged 30-45 named pore size/clogged pores as one of their top three skin concerns," said Jeff Murad, VP-NPD at Murad. "Understanding that there was a gap in the market, we wanted to find a solution to the fast-growing consumer concern associated with large pores and blackheads. After in-depth research and testing, we have created a product line that will give our customers the fast acting results they are looking for, without compromising skin health."

The products in the Pore Reform line help strengthen the pores' natural support structure and reduce the appearance of blackheads caused by dead skin cells, oil and dirt in the follicles. By keeping pores clear of clogging debris and regulating oil production, the products in the Pore Reform line balance the health of the skin's surface layer to provide a smooth, refined and even complexion.
