Estée Lauder Chairman Emeritus Leonard Lauder had second thoughts about his wedding to Linda E. Johnson last weekend and called it off at the the last moment, according to The New York Post.
The 80-year-old son of Estée Lauder and Johnson, the 55-year-old president and CEO of the Brooklyn Public Library, had planned to marry in front of an intimate group of family and friends in Philadelphia over the weekend.
But Lauder who is worth an estimated $8 billion, and Johnson called guests just a few weeks before the big day to say it was being “postponed.” Lauder's wife, Evelyn, whom he married in 1959, died in November 2011. He began publicly dating Johnson in late 2012.
According to The Post, the pair remains a couple and are vacationing in Sardinia. The postponed nuptials may be do to a case of cold feet.
"The whole thing was too fast and too breathless,” a friend told The Post.
