Croda Inc celebrated its approval by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for participation in the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) (http://www.osha.gov/vpp). Croda announced earlier this year that it had achieved Star certification at its site in Mill Hall, PA, and today’s event was a formal acknowledgement of that achievement. OSHA conducted an onsite review of the manufacturing facility in October 2012 and in February approved the site for participation in this elite program.
“We are committed to safety in all our operations and were honored when OSHA accepted our Mill Hall manufacturing site into the VPP Star program earlier this year,” said Dave Johnson, Managing Director – Operations, Croda Inc. “This celebratory event is a pleasure to host as it recognizes the dedication that the company and our employees have to health and safety, both onsite and within our local community. It is a great honor to be able to recognize everyone’s efforts and commitment to safety today at this celebration.”
As part of the program for the day’s event, Mark Stelmack, Area Director, OSHA, presented Croda Inc with a flag and a plaque to commemorate the event, which was then ceremoniously raised by members of Croda Inc’s VPP team.
Croda has a history of commitment to health and safety at its locations in the United States. Its manufacturing site at Atlas Point in New Castle, Delaware has been a VPP Star approved site since 2005. The Croda US corporate headquarters and innovation center in Edison, New Jersey was a recipient of the OSHA SHARP award in 2006. The SHARP Award is a voluntary program where companies invite OSHA to inspect their facility and rate the company on its adherence to governmental health and safety regulations. Companies who participate in this program are also recognized as being committed to following health and safety guidelines and creating an exemplary workplace environment for their employees.
