CoverGirl Shows Team Spirit

September 3, 2013

New promotion with NFL debuts this month.

This fall, football is going femme as CoverGirl teams up with the National Football League (NFL) to celebrate the League’s female fans. So aside from the team jerseys, lucky hats, foam fingers and pom-poms, women game-goers and –watchers now have the chance to express their on-the-field allegiance like never before – via official NFL CoverGirl “fanicures,” inspired by all 32 NFL team logos and colors. On-sale starting Thursday, Sept. 5 only at covergirl.com/NFL, the 32 customized COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss bundles, one combination per team, offer all women the chance to wear their heart for the home team on their hands, whether a Bengal, Brown, Bronco or Buccaneer. Until then, fans can preview the looks on CoverGirl’s Facebook page.

“If you’ve ever tailgated or been to an NFL game, you understand the passion and emotion that goes into being a fan – it’s not just about the competition on the field on game day, but also the rivalries in the stands, at home, with friends or even around the office water cooler,” said Esi Eggleston Bracey, VP and general manager, CoverGirl Cosmetics. “As an iconic American brand, it made perfect sense for CoverGirl to team up with the NFL in support of America’s favorite pastime, empowering women with a fun, new way to showcase their spirit. Being a fan can be a beautiful thing!”

In addition to the team-customized CoverGirl nail polish bundles sold online, NFL fans also will have the opportunity to experience “fanicures” in action at select home games – inside the stadium at NFL Style Lounges and outside the stadium via CoverGirl mobile manicure stations. Fans also will receive instant-replay-worthy inspiration and get-the-look tutorials on a CoverGirl NFL nail board on Pinterest. Finally, CoverGirl will encourage fans with a competitive streak to upload their own team-inspired nail looks – going finger-to-finger with rival femmes to rally around their teams via sharing and liking their fellow team posts.
