Walmart Hires 55,000 Seasonal Associates

September 24, 2013

Some to transition to permanent post-season status.

Walmart will hire 55,000 seasonal associates and we will transition more than 35,000 associates from temporary to part-time and another 35,000 associates from part-time to full-time.

According to Gisel Ruiz, executive vice president, chief operating officer, Walmart U.S., "The holidays are a special time of year for many Americans. For some it's about being with loved ones; for others it's about giving their family a Christmas to remember.

"Our associates have always been the key to Walmart's success, and that's especially true during the holidays. We know our associates are going to deliver for our customers, so we are going to deliver for our associates. In addition to the traditional hiring of seasonal help, we are expanding opportunities for the people that already work for us."

The company also recently made headlines for its Sustainability Report, as previously reported in Happi.
