Origins Posts Voluntary Recall

November 19, 2013

Batch of Mega Mushroom creams contains mold.

Origins is voluntarily recalling a batch of its Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega Mushroom Soothing Face Cream after it was discovered the products contained mold. According to reports, Origins said the mold could heighten the risk of infection for some people, such as those with compromised skin, weakened immune systems or people who wear certain contact lenses if the cream were to get in their eyes.

The recalled product, distributed in North America, was sold in 50-milliliter jars and in 30-milliliter jars as part of the Origins Mega Relief gift set. The items are stamped “A43” at the bottom of the jar.

This Fall, fellow natural marketer Badger also posted a fungi-related recall.
