wet n wild and its global beauty ambassador Fergie joined Walgreens in making a $50,000 donation to amfAR amidst a plethora of celebrity and industry attendees at an exclusive party held at New York City’s Tao Downtown.
The event was the pop star’s first public appearance since welcoming her first child, Axl Jack Duhamel, this past August.
Longtime supporter of amfAR, the American foundation for AIDS research, Fergie and wet n wild collaborated this year in curating her Perfect Pout Lip Color in V.I.Pink for the cause. As part of her Fergie CenterStage Collection sold exclusively at Walgreens, the three parties pledged to donate $0.50 from each sale of her lipstick to amfAR. They proudly presented the foundation with a check totaling over $50,000 at the bash.
“wet n wild, Walgreens, and I have been working on a ton of projects in the past year, and I couldn’t have better partners here tonight to celebrate our latest initiative: our collective support of amfAR, a foundation dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic,” said Fergie. “It all started with my Walgreens-exclusive cosmetic line. wet n wild and I created my Fergie Perfect Pout Lip Color in V.I.Pink for this cause that’s near and dear to me. This partnership has lead to raising tens of thousands of dollars to this most worthy cause. What better reason to party?”
“Walgreens has enjoyed collaborating with wet n wild and was thrilled to participate in this initiative to help support the amfAR organization,” said Shannon Curtin, group vice president for beauty and personal care at Walgreens. “This collaboration reflected our efforts to build awareness and raise funding to continue research, and help people get, stay and live well.”
