The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) revealed the winners of its 2013 Performance Improvement Awards, recognizing more than 25 member facilities for their outstanding commitment to continuous improvement in environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) practices.
Through a month-long, double-blind selection process, the judging committee has named an outstanding group of recipients. Gold, Silver and Bronze Performance Improvement Award recipients, as well as Educational Outreach and Sustainability Award winners, honored at SOCMA’s 92nd Annual Dinner in December 2013 in New York.
Strem Chemicals’ plant in Newburyport, MA, and Optima Chemical Group LLC in Douglas, GA, will both receive the 2013 Gold Performance Improvement Award for their efforts in exceeding standards set forth in the ChemStewards program.
Alpha Resins LLC was awarded the ChemStewards Sustainability Award.
