Nominate Top Packages For HBA IPDA Award

Deadline for entry is Friday, April 25.

HBA Global Expo is accepting nominations for its annual IPDA (International Package Design Awards) at http://www.hbaexpo.com. These awards honors the year’s most innovative beauty packaging in several categories including cosmetics, fragrance, personal care, skin care and innovations in sustainability. The best in hair care, sampling/travel size, and at-home devices and tools packaging are also recognized. The deadline for IPDA submissions is April 25, 2014.

As the longest running and biggest package design awards in the beauty industry—major brands, independents and emerging players, have all won HBA’s IPDA awards for excellence in package design and engineering achievements.

Past IPDA winners and finalists have included Artistry, Aveda, Bath & Body Works, Benefit Cosmetics, Burberry Cosmetics, Caudalie, Coty, Five Star Fragrance, Hommage, Inter Parfums, Kate Somerville Skin Care, Lisa Hoffman Beauty, L’Oreal Paris, MAC Cosmetics, NYX Cosmetics, Olay, Physicians Formula, Pravana, Sephora, Stila, The Estee Lauder Companies, Unilever, Urban Decay, Victoria Secrets and Yves Rocher.

Any size company can submit finished beauty and personal care products for their packaging design that were or will be introduced for retail from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, including suppliers, design firms, agencies and brand manufacturers.  Designs that have been refreshed, improved, or offer new features or technologies are also eligible to participate.

Finalists for the IPDA Awards are announced mid-May and the category winners and the IPDA Grand Award will be revealed on June 11, 2014 during the HBA Global Expo & Conference June 10-12, 2014 at the Javits Center in New York. The award finalists and winners are prominently displayed in the IPDA Showcase located on the exhibit floor, during the event.

The judging panel for the IPDA includes designers, packaging experts, and members of the media. IPDA submissions are evaluated on the following: originality, design concept, creative use of new materials, components and decoratingprocesses, technical competency and effective brand messaging.
